Bespoke Wedge canopies at The Chancellors, Hammersmith

These bespoke RIB® Wedge canopies have been installed by us at The Chancellors Pub in Hammersmith. The RIB® canopy is a  simple, yet robust, construction in which no plastic parts are used and the covers are fixed directly to sturdy aluminium sections of our own design, completely eliminating the need for unsightly plastic strips. These RIB® canopies are in the more modern wedge  shape and are especially durable due the triangulated geometry of construction.   An unusual, yet distinctive, feature of these canopies, has been the special cut-out section over the entrance to the pub providinga clear focus to welcome guests inside.

The Chancellors building dates from the 1850s, and provides a  friendly and unpretentious location as a locals' pub, which differentiates it  from the more upmarket establishments in Hammersmith. The bar is located round three sides of a square and the furnishings are mostly  of dark wood with black banquette seating. The pub is opposite the old Riverside Studios, and its walls feature black and white photos of British film and TV stars from the nineteen fifties to the nineteen seventies to reflect this heritage.

Riverside Studios was acquired by the British Broadcasting Corporation In 1954 for its television service and renamed The BBC Riverside Television Studios.  the building was officially opened on 29 March 1957 by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Popular TV programmes which were made there include Hancock's Half Hour, Top of the Pops, Blue Peter and Play School.
