Markilux 110 Pergola awning for Tala Studios

This fabulous Markilux 110 Tracfix Pergola awning system has been installed at the new Tala Studios Global Headquarters situated right in the heart of London's East End on Vyner Street. awning covers a massive 80 square meters of balcony and its linked units measure a total of  16 meters by 5. The Model 110 Tracfix is a tensioned system for use in rain or sun and incorporates a gutter in the front profile with downpipes to carry run off to the sides. Operation of this installation is via a remote, multi-channel, control so the units can be operated together or separately, as the client wishes. A particular challenge for us was get the awnings on to the balcony terrace in the first place and this was safely achieved through transferring the componentry from the ground floor, then to the first floor and, finally, to the installation point. Not easy but this sort of challenge is one we relish!

Tala Studios new Global Headquarters now houses  a showroom, balcony terrace, design studio and engineering lab. Tala Studios is a destination showroom for the design community, that showcases the entire Tala portfolio in an inspiring and immersive setting. The studio spans 7,500 sq ft across two floors of a former textile warehouse recently renovated by award-winning Archer Architects.
