Victorian awnings for Gold Restaurant Notting Hill

8 Jul 2019

Two  Victorian awning have been installed on the new Gold restaurant in the fashionable Portobello Road in Notting Hill. The Gold coloured logo and text we have placed on the valances of these Victorian awnings is through the use of our bespoke RAGS ® branding process and contrasts with the black of the fabric covers and distressed verdigris of the window frames. The use of environmentally sound materials is important to us at Morco and water based paints and licensed harvested hardwood timbers are used as standard.  The traditional steel arms supporting the front lath are powder coated to a high impact finish, by our own powder coating plant, to resist weather and damage from constant use.

Gold is a neighbourhood restaurant and late night bar in the middle of Portobello Road. Inspired by the area’s diverse cultural history and artistic ambience; Gold is informal and honest, with a simple menu focussed on generous, seasonal plates cooked in wood ovens and served to share. Set over three floors, Gold’s diverse space provides a venue for  laid-back dining and drinking, both indoors and out.

The Road gets its name from a local farm which in turn was named after popular victory in 1740 by Admiral Edward Vernon who captured the Spanish town of Puerto Bello in Panama.  Nearby to Portobello Road can be found Vernon's Yard; named after the victorious Admiral.
