Victorian awnings for the Harrodian School

17 Aug 2020

Perfectly blending in with the frontage of the Harrodian School in South West London these Victorian awnings which we have installed recently provide shade with an air of quiet sophistication to this elegant building.  The awnings have been  constructed using the finest seasoned, harvested, hardwoods and are  finished with an environmentally friendly water based paint. Complimenting these awnings are a pair of  traditionally style apex shaped entrance canopies located above the double door entrances to one of the buildings. All metalwork on these awnings and canopies has been powder coated, in our own finishing plant, to give an exceptional degree of resilience to weathering.

Set on a 25-acre riverside estate in Barnes, South West London, Harrodian is a high-achieving independent school for boys and girls aged between 4 and 18 years old. Its beautiful site on the south bank of the Thames includes departments tailored to meet the needs of three age groups – Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior/Sixth – that make up a single, close-knit whole.

Formerly the site of Harrods Sports Club, the original premises has been extended and converted for educational purposes. Until 1988 the site had been a clubhouse and sports ground for employees of Harrods department store, and known as the Harrodian Club
