Victorian awnings for Prawn on the Lawn

1 Dec 2018

These two excellent  Victorian awnings, installed at The  Prawn on the Lawn (Fishmonger's shop & Bar) have fabric covers which unusually contrast with the finish of awning box and front lath. These have been  stained in a natural finish to give an authentic old look to this fully licensed fishmonger and restaurant situated near to Islington’s buzzing Upper Street.  Of particular note is the abstract white graphics which have been produced using  the Morco RAGS® branding permitting us to create a crazy, but accurate, reproduction of the menu style used within the outlet. The awning arms have been powder coated in a durable black finish to contrast with the woodwork and blend in with the shop front frame.

Prawn on the Lawn in Islington began life as a seafood bar and fishmonger but has now been extended to include a 35 seater restaurant and 16 seating private dining room, serving only the freshest seafood and tapas-style fish dishes. Prawn on the Lawn serves creative plates including seared tuna, Thai style scallops and their signature Prawn on the Lawn dish, as well as larger platters such as Crab, Lobster, Fruits De Mer and fresh fish you can pick from the counter.

The name Islington comes from the title of means "Gīsla's hill" from the Old English personal name Gīsla and dun ("hill", "down"). The name later mutated to Isledon, which remained in use well into the 17th century when the modern form arose.
