Victorian Awnings Recovered for Pragnell

Traditional Victorian awnings from Morco feature some elements which do not exist in similar products from other awning suppliers. The timber we use on our traditional Victorian awnings is sourced from registered FSC (Forest Stewardship Council certification). Not only is the timber from renewable sources we do not use softwood as popular with other awning suppliers. Hardwoods are more difficult to work but due to their durability are far more resistant to the dirt and other pollutants likely on most busy high streets. 

Another feature which makes our traditional Victorian awnings different is the fact that we employ skilled joiners who cut the awning side cheeks in such a way that the awning top boxes are sloped. This technique is essential in proper traditional awning box manufacture as, without this feature, water can pool on the top of the box hastening degradation and subsequent failure.

On the job shown here, at the exclusive Pragnells jewellers on Mount Street, the awnings also feature a special branding process which further enhances the long term appearance of prestige branded awnings. The intricate graphic and borders on these awnings has been achieved by our skilfull use of 24 carat gold leaf which has been painstakingly applied by hand to provide the stunning finish appropriate to this establishment.
