Victorian awnings in the Swiss Alps

The pictures alongside may look like they may have been copied from a box containing chocolates from a famous Swiss brand of confectionary but this is definitely not the case. We have installed these Victorian awnings on to this beautiful villa in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The awnings at the lower level are operated manually in the traditional way with slides and moving arms. However, this would clearly not have been possible on the upper floors and these awning only required the arms to pivot. Therefore we were able to install concealed remotely controlled motors within the awning rollers themselves which means the client is able to operate them with the simple press of a hand held button. This is another example of the International nature of our business today and the fact that these uniquely British Victorian awnings are being increasingly sought overseas.

The soft grey and white of the fabric colours blend superbly with the sophistication of the location and, especially for this installation, we designed and created bespoke valances in a staggered castellation to give an even more unique aspect to the completed job.

The site survey and on site consultation had to be undertaken by one of our Senior Design Consultants who travelled to Switzerland for this purpose. Installation was carried out also by our own specialist crew who were on site to ensure all our highest standards of installation were applied. Apart from Switzerland other installations of this type have now been carried out in such far flung places as the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
